Governor Murphy's delegation, for this first-ever foreign trip by the Governor, included Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, and Rabbi Mendy Carlebach, of Chabad House at Rutgers University. The Governor's schedule for the three days featured a Havdalah Service in Jerusalem, and a unique program at the Tel Aviv University- Installation of Mr. Mark Wilf as incoming Chairman of Jewish Federation of North America.

The highlight of the trip was Governor Murphy's visit to the Western Wall, accompanied by the Rabbis. The Governor and First Lady also attended a Memorial Service dedicated to the father of Tammy Murphy, Edward Snyder, who most recently passed on. The Governor prayed at the Western Wall, and placed a private note into the Wall. The group was also accompanied by Ambassador Dani Dayan, and by Mordechai Eliav, Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

Rabbi Yosef Carlebach stated, "It's a distinct pleasure and honor to accompany the Governor on this trip to Israel. It was beautiful to walk together at the Kotel Plaza, and hear from passers-by, their love and admiration for the Governor, and their affiliation with New Jersey.  Governor Phil and Tammy Murphy gave tremendous encouragement and moral support to the people of Israel, and we could feel the reciprocal love and respect at every stop in this historic visit."
